I've built a business on my name. I know what that takes.
Here's who I am, what I believe, and why I do this work.
The short version
I'm Greg Ryan. I've sold real estate in Shreveport-Bossier for 38 years. In that business, your name is everything. People hire you because somebody they trust said you were good, and they keep coming back because you answered the phone and did what you said you'd do.
That's the same thing I help other owners build now. A good name gets people to look you up. What they find, and what happens after they reach out, decides whether they ever become a customer.
Why this site has my name on it
I've owned GregRyan.com since 1998. For most of that time it was a real estate site.
Over the years I spread my work out across a lot of different places. A podcast here, a business there, a book, a community. One night I woke up wondering why I wasn't using the one thing that's going to be on everything I do for the rest of my life. Businesses change. Logos change. I'll always be Greg Ryan.
Jesus said nobody lights a lamp and hides it under a basket. I'd been doing a pretty good job of hiding mine. So this is home now.
The unflattering part
I'm not going to give you a highlight reel. I've had a company that failed. I've chased things I shouldn't have and missed things I should've seen coming.
I'm an imperfect man following a perfect example. I just keep getting back up and trying again, and I've learned that's most of the game in business too.
What I believe
I've been following Jesus since 1993, and I try to put Him first in everything, including business.
That's where the name of my book comes from. I AM > AI. When God told Moses His name at the burning bush, He said "I AM WHO I AM." No algorithm is ever going to be bigger than that. So I don't think Christians should be scared of AI, and I don't think they should worship it either. It's a tool. Learn to use it, keep God first, and treat people right.
I'm probably the least churchy guy you'll meet. I talk plain, I'll tell you the truth even when it stings, and I'll cheer you on while I do it. More coach than preacher.
